Bocas es Amor. That is exactly my feeling. Bocas showed us nothing but love from both locals and tourists alike. Everyone is there to have a good time and get into the Rasta vibes and Caribbean Rhythms. Our friend Ras Tourty who was the first person we met in Bocas, in a surf shop and [...]

Escape from Bocas Del Toro
May 27th, 2008 · 12 Comments
So we walked on looking for it maybe somewhere else and way up the island there it was right were we locked it up, at an identical looking public dingy dock, much further away then we thought, we were super happy again and I guess time just flies when your having fun.
Then like, partying at aqua, everyone having a good time, just taking over the dance floor and we all decide to go back to the Natty M for the after hours party with our crew which has lately included the Canadians of Ryan, Davis and Maggie of Fidelity, who have their own dingy.

Attacked in Bocas Del Toro
May 24th, 2008 · 10 Comments
Vicious crocodiles and cayman are the least of our worries in Bocas Del Toro. Rather its cougars that prowl the streets, restaurants and waterfront bars waiting to attack the crew of the Natural Mystic. Apparently the supple young male flesh of the Natty M boys is found irresistible by these opportunistic predators and [...]

Sultans of Scrope
May 24th, 2008 · No Comments
Never a dull moment in the day in the life of these four Sultans of Scrope. Our days are filled with peril, carnage and the occasional all day internet-a-thon. Our nights stretch into mornings as we swagger through hostel-hippies, traveling students and hip-shaking, merengue mamasitas. Cooling down after a rump-rubbing churn [...]

Hey there everyone. I just thought I’d let you all know that I added a “Photos” page to the blog so that you can see the photos we’ve posted in the past.
We’re in Bocas Del Toro making the most out of a small, but fun swell and sampling the culture in this unique place.

Colon to Rio Chagres

“It doesn’t even feel like you’re on a boat.” Kahlil says, as we lay propped up on various cushions, and beanbag chairs. Relaxing in a wondrous lethargy, on our moist backs, staring upwards at the enveloping jungle overhead, in awe of the sheer stillness of the place, but enthralled by the cacophony of sounds [...]

If you click this link, I guarantee the video that loads will induce knee slapping laughter.
I tried to motivate the crew to shoot self-portraits twice a day. One at night and once during the daylight hours for every day we were sailing to Panama. Not everyone fully cooperated so there’s a bit of continuity issues. [...]

Life Aboard
May 11th, 2008 · 1 Comment
I will endeavour to give you a more personal and introspective view of life aboard the Natural Mystic, and I’ll try to come unstuck from dry facts and linear narrative.
Back in Latin America, land of sweaty tropical jungles, tall mountains, stark deserts, an ethnic mish-mash of people dark and fair, biodiversity such that it could [...]

With the winds backing off, the stank level steadily increases due to a lack of AC aboard the Natural Mystic. We stew in our own juices as the tropical heat and mind numbing humidity bakes us into a frenzy.
We’ve found refuge in the familiar comforts of the Caribbean Sea again. After our adventures to [...]

Caribbean Dream Passage
May 10th, 2008 · 2 Comments
We shoved off the dock at Falmouth Harbor, Antigua at high noon on Tuesday, and headed out into the deep blue Caribbean Sea, headed for Colon, Panama with our crew of 4 ready and excited for what King Neptune might have in store for us. The day was a beauty; winds were northeast at [...]
