I just cleared customs, checked out and officially removed Mystic (thanks for all your help and enthusiasm) from our crew list and added the our new boat crew “Brent” Dizzy Madden to the boat roster. The new Commonwealth boys are a breath of fresh air and super hard workers. Dizzy is on the green side of sailing so we will see how he fairs on his first passage.
We are headed for Montserrat (assuming the volcano isn’t erupting too hard) to check out the volcano that has devastated the island and is still erupting. We will try to keep you posted and are able to e-mail the website from our sat-phone, but for some reason it puts the messages in the December 1969 category, so check there for some sat-phone updates. We have tried to fix this problem unsuccessfully so far, weird.
One thing has become very evident to me so far on this journey, you make great friends and then they or you both have to sail off to your next destination. Saying good bye becomes a common thing in your life and it hasn’t gotten any easier for me. Tears are shed and little gifts and notes are exchanged and it makes you feel a little empty inside, like your leaving a little piece of you behind. You wonder what will become of your firends and weather your paths will cross again, only time knows. But, I know I will always have the memories of the good times we shared and those I will treasure forever.
So, a big thanks to everyone in St. Maarten who has helped us out, maxximum respect and best wishes to our friends (especially the Chippy crew…some of the best people out there, thanks for the Blissful dinner) and and we will see what mother nature has in-store for the crew of the Natural Mystic, next. Cheers- Kyber
