Merry Christmas to All Our Friends Out There

December 25th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Old Point Comfort Light House, 2nd oldest on the ChesapeakBayEveryone aboard the Natural Mystic sends out our best Christmas wishes to all our friends where ever you might be this beautiful day. We are with you all in spirit and keep you all close to our hearts our journey, so Merry Christmas to all.

The weather outside is crisp, the winds increasing out of the north and the high clouds with a couple of rainbow colored sun dogs (caused by the reflection of the sun off the ice crystals, cold) signal the approaching front. Thursday is still looking like the day to get on our merry way.

Yesterday we were able to get our mainsail back on the boat, go test sailing and tweak some of the repairs we and the sailmaker (Thank You Jim from Quantum) made. Every thing seemed to go smoothly, worked well and we are all feeling a sense of confidence again about our boat. The screecher and jib looked great and the main with her new battens had much improved shape and with that we were doing 9 knots on a broad reach in 8 knots of wind, on a gorgeous winter day out on the Chesapeake Bay. So lets hope all our hard work and perseverance pays off in the new year and we are once again surfing and kiteboarding and having some fun.

Its true, the local Indians use to rave about it back in the day, but when white man showed up he ruined the break just like everything else.
